Louisville’s Biggest Summer Tradition Returns June 5–6 with Expanded Weekend Lineup

Taste of Louisville has been part of the fabric of the community for more than four decades.

What once began with small food carts lining the streets has evolved into one of Louisville’s largest community celebrations and in 2026, the event expands once again with an entire weekend of food, entertainment, music, art, and local experiences taking over Downtown Louisville June 5–6.

Hosted by the Louisville Chamber of Commerce, Taste of Louisville now includes multiple signature experiences across the weekend, alongside a month-long celebration of local restaurants through the “Best Taste in Town” voting competition.

The weekend kicks off Friday, June 5 with Dinner on Main, First Friday downtown activities, and the return of the hugely popular Silent Disco on Main Street. This year, Dinner on Main sold out in just three minutes, even after doubling the length of the table for 2026. But organizers say there is still plenty of free fun for the whole community to enjoy throughout downtown.

Downtown shops will stay open late with special activities, local artists, drinks, and surprises throughout the evening, while the Louisville Historical Museum will host its nostalgic Soda Parlour experience with complimentary mini floats and live music. Everyone is also invited to join the free Silent Disco and dance under the stars on Main Street as hundreds of people come together for one of Louisville’s most unique summer traditions.

Then on Saturday, June 6, the celebration continues with the ticketed Fun Run & Dog Jog, live entertainment across multiple stages, local vendors, farmers market, Pride Festival, interactive art experiences, family activities, vintage and modern car show and community programming throughout downtown.

A new addition to Taste, The Pride Festival will feature an interactive community paint-by-numbers mural where attendees can help create a large-scale artwork celebrating diversity, creativity, and the many people who make up the Louisville community.

The Fun Run & Dog Jog fundraiser brings a playful start to the day, with runners, walkers, and four-legged participants taking over downtown together. Even the pups get the VIP treatment with race bibs, pup cups, and plenty of attention along the route.

Throughout May, the community is also invited to vote for their favorite local restaurants, coffee shops, cocktails, breweries, desserts, and more as part of the “Best Taste in Town” competition designed to celebrate Louisville’s hospitality community and encourage residents to explore local businesses.

“Taste of Louisville marks the start of summer for so many people in our community,” said Executive Director, Gillian Millar. “It’s that weekend where people wander downtown, run into friends, discover something new, dance in the streets, and celebrate everything that makes Louisville an amazing place to be. There’s something really meaningful about seeing the whole community come together to kick off the summer season.”

Most events are free to attend thanks to the support of local sponsors and community partners who help make the weekend accessible for families and visitors alike.
