Louisville's City Council is considering buying property — tour the building at an open houseCity Council members are considering purchasing the 56,054 building and 7.96 acres located at 101 South Taylor Avenue. The $13.25 million purchase price for the property represents a unique opportunity to address multiple existing and future community needs at a cost of $236 per square foot — significantly lower than the cost of new construction. Other cities in the region have recently built new facilities at a cost of approximately $1,000 per square foot. While this purchase would not require an increase in taxes for Louisville residents, it could require shifting funding from other projects. Before they make a final decision, Council members want to hear from the community and provide residents with opportunities to tour the property. Join us for one of two open houses planned at the property: - Saturday, April 11 from 9:30–11:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, April 22 from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
To learn more about the potential purchase, visit EngageLouisvilleCO.org. |

Schedule your water meter replacement starting later this monthThis spring, we're starting our citywide water meter replacement project. The new water meters will improve accuracy, detect water issues early, and help us better plan for Louisville's future water needs. To replace your meter, we'll need you to schedule an appointment for a technician to access your home or business. City of Louisville water customers will receive a letter later this month with more information on the project and how to schedule your meter replacement. We'll remind you to schedule via email, social media, and door hangers. Our goal is to make this process as smooth as possible for our customers. The project will continue until every meter has been replaced, so we encourage you to schedule your appointment as soon as scheduling opens. We know it's an inconvenience to have technicians in or outside your home, and our contractor will be working efficiently to ensure as little disruption as possible. |

City aligns fire restrictions with Boulder CountyOn March 24, City Council adopted a resolution to align the City’s fire restrictions with those of Boulder County. Now, when Boulder County implements fire restrictions for the unincorporated area adjacent to Louisville, Louisville will automatically implement the same. This makes it easier for residents and the Louisville Fire Protection District to know which stage of fire restrictions are in place for Louisville and when they are in effect. As a reminder, Louisville — along with the entirety of Boulder County — is currently under stage 1 fire restrictions. |
Residents encouraged to keep sprinklers offSpring has sprung, but it already feels like summer! With this unusually hot weather, the City has gotten a lot of questions about water restrictions. There are currently no mandatory water restrictions in Louisville, but residents are encouraged to observe voluntary water restrictions. You may be inclined to start sprinkler systems early, but we encourage you to hold off — not irrigating now will help preserve Louisville's water supply if dry conditions continue. Plan on programming your sprinkler system to start later in the season (mid-to-late May). |
