While we are getting some last minute April showers, we are fully ready to enjoy May's flowers AND May's arts and events programming. Join us this Friday, May 1 for First Friday in downtown Louisville and stop by the Library to feast your eyes on the gorgeous blooms in Teresa Anne Volgenau's paintings! May First Friday: Out of this World

Friday, May 1 | 5–7 p.m. | Louisville Public Library

First Fridays are back in downtown Louisville. Make the Library your first stop this coming Friday and join us for an evening that's out of this world!

The Coal Creek Gallery opens its newest exhibit, Astronaut of the Self: Explorations of Inner and Outer Space by Teresa Anne Volgenau, with a reception that sets the perfect tone for a night of discovery.

Denver musician Kid Astronaut provides the live soundtrack, while families get hands-on with Artemis II straw rocket crafts and everyone enjoys cosmic refreshments.

Fire Station Block Party

Save the date! Louisville's Fire Station Block Party is back for its 5th year with some exciting new additions.

For the first time ever, the Fire Station Block Party will feature a Foam Party! Get ready to play and dance in a mountain of bubbly suds starting at 3 p.m. Open to all ages!

The Louisville Chamber of Commerce will also be hosting the first ever Block Party Beer Garden with local brews to pair with your food truck treats.

We are also bringing back all of the favorites, including live music, the famous arcade bus, and caricature artists. Attendance and participation in these amazing summertime activities is all free and open to the public!

Louisville Farmers Market

Louisville's favorite Saturday pastime, the downtown Farmers Market will be back for another summer season starting May 9! Come down for the opening market and rejoice in the renewed availability of fresh produce and local products after a six month pause. This year the Farmers Market has many exciting new programs and events in store — so be sure to learn more as the season continues!

History Happy Hour: The Memory of Place with Amy Haines

Historian Amy Haines will lead a community discussion about the ways that places hold memories and the way our memories hold places. Grab a drink and listen to this talk at Louisville Underground, the former location of a very special place in Louisville history, the Blue Parrot!

Sneak Peek: Find the Pomodoro Art Scavenger Hunt

Launching Friday, June 5

Embark on a juicy adventure to find eight hidden pomodoros (that's Italian for 'tomato') that we have hidden throughout Louisville! Each pomodoro art piece will be made out of a different material and hidden in its own corner of the City's public spaces. A special prize will be waiting at the Louisville Public Library for those who find all eight.

It is almost time for Summer Concerts in the Park! We are very excited to reveal our line up for the 2026 season AND share that we are back to our regular five concerts!
