4/17/26: Letter to City Council re Front Range Passenger Rail

Louisville Chamber of Commerce
4/17/26

On behalf of the Louisville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors we write to express our support for continued progress toward passenger rail service along Colorado’s Front Range.

Colorado has a unique near-term opportunity to deliver passenger rail service connecting communities along the Front Range as early as 2029. The Front Range Passenger Rail District’s operating plan outlines a practical approach that builds on existing rail infrastructure and established partnerships, allowing the project to move forward efficiently.

For the business community, regional mobility is essential. Louisville businesses rely on employees, customers, and partners who travel across the Front Range every day. Expanding reliable transportation options can help strengthen workforce access, reduce congestion on key corridors such as US 36 and I-25, and support continued economic growth throughout the region.

Passenger rail service would also provide a safe, efficient, and convenient alternative to highway travel for workers, families, students, seniors, and visitors. By expanding travel options, the service can help reduce transportation costs while improving connections between communities and regional economies.

Delivering early phases of service will help build public confidence in the long-term vision for Front Range rail. We encourage continued collaboration among partners to move this important project forward.

Sincerely,

Gillian Millar
