SUMMARY:Commuting Solutions Town Hall: Longmont
DESCRIPTION:Passenger rail has been a long-standing vision for the Front Range. The Front Range Passenger Rail District (FRPRD) was established to plan\, fund\, build\, and ultimately operate passenger rail service linking communities from Fort Collins to Pueblo\, including Loveland\, Longmont\, Boulder\, Louisville\, Broomfield\, Westminster\, Denver\, Littleton\, Douglas County\, and Colorado Springs.Currently\, the district is moving towards drafting a finalized Service Development Plan (SDP) and is considering a potential ballot issue for this November. Front Range Passenger Rail District is exploring a district-wide tax measure to help fund rail systems across 13 counties. However\, the district first wants to ensure there is public support before moving forward. The Front Range Passenger Rail District is heavily investing in public engagement to ensure that residents across the Front Range have opportunities to learn about the service vision\, route\, stations and funding options and weigh in on the plan\, and has committed to hosting numerous in-person town halls across the Front Range. As of early 2026\, roughly 30 town halls are being planned through the spring to gather feedback and answer questions directly from residents.Commuting Solutions has signed on to be an outreach partner to initiate this public engagement phase and will spearhead three town halls in Boulder\, Longmont\, and Westminster as part of the northwest metro region's public engagement efforts. These town halls are open to all residents within the northwest metro region. For more information and to register\, click HERE
