Shavonne Blades grew up on the West Coast but moved to Colorado in High School. She left for California after school and returned to Colorado in 1990. She got her start in media at the age of 21 in Santa Cruz, California as an advertising sales rep. Having no experience and nothing more than a couple of years as an art college attendee she felt the bug to work in media at a young age. She learned that by helping her customers with design and marketing, their campaigns would be far more successful and has made a 30+ year career in design, copywriting, and marketing for her clients. www.yellowscene.com/advertise She has always chosen to work in Independent Media and believes deeply in the need for true, authentic Community Journalism. She is proud that YS has never compromised journalism standards in its 25 year history and continues to print YS on paper monthly while also expanding web coverage. SCOTT LEITH - WSI

Bio is here: With over 25 years of success as a business owner in the golf industry, I led Recreational Marketing dba/Best Approach before stepping back from daily operations in 2023, selling all but 20% of the company to launch my own marketing agency. My background includes founding a dot-com startup and a printing business, and earlier in my career, I served as the Western Region Sales Manager for an industrial supply company and began my professional life as a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch. I hold a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Psychology from Arizona State University, as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University. Originally from New York, I spent time living in Boston and California before settling in Arizona, and most recently relocated from Minnesota to Colorado. I’ve been married for nearly 30 years, and my son—who just turned 21 (a milestone I'm still adjusting to)—is currently studying architecture at ASU.


Company description:WSI is a full-service digital marketing firm specializing in website design, SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, and more. We are heavily integrating AI into our work, allowing us to build more robust marketing strategies than ever before by leveraging a broader and deeper set of data. JIM GRECO - NOCO COMMUNITY AD SPACE

Jim Greco owns and operates NoCo Community AdSpace, an advertising services provider that is dedicated to providing local businesses with modern advertising solutions. He is most known for his network of indoor digital billboards that can be found across Boulder County, promoting many of the businesses we visit during our daily lives.

Prior to launching his business in 2024, Jim enjoyed a long 25+ year career in marketing research and analytics at industry leading companies such as Oracle and Nielsen, building a reputation as an industry expert who offers actionable insights in media measurement, marketing strategy and data-driven decision-making. The launch of the Community AdSpace represents Jim’s long-time desire to use his experience to make a positive impact in the local community he lives in, and to become more immersed and engaged in his community.

Jeanine Fritz — Advertising Manager, Prairie Mountain Media

Jeanine Fritz is the Advertising Manager at Prairie Mountain Media, overseeing advertising operations for several prominent Colorado publications, including the Daily CameraLongmont Times-CallBroomfield Enterprise, and Colorado Hometown Weekly.

With more than 25 years of experience in the publishing industry, Fritz is a deadline-driven and independent professional known for her commitment to delivering effective advertising solutions and building strong client relationships. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving the success of advertising initiatives across all the publications under her management.

She holds a degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, further deepening her connection to the Colorado community. Fritz’s dedication to local media and her expertise in advertising continue to make her a valuable asset to Prairie Mountain Media and the clients she serves.


TYLER NELSON - ASPYR AI CONSULTING

Tyler Nelson is the Founder of Aspyr AI Consulting, a Denver-based firm that helps small and mid-sized businesses translate artificial-intelligence tools into measurable revenue growth. With an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from USC, Tyler draws on a decade of strategy, operations, and growth experience to design AI-powered systems that automate customer acquisition, personalize messaging at scale, and free teams to focus on high-value work. His recent projects in property management, real estate, health and fitness, and professional-services have delivered 5-10x ROI through AI-driven lead generation and workflow automation. Giving clients an actionable roadmap they can put to work immediately. He currently lives in Broomfield, CO with his wife and two and a half year old son and plans to never leave the beautiful state of Colorado



ALBERT MANZI - MODERATOR

 

Albert J. Manzi is the retired President and Publisher of the Daily Camera and President and CEO for Prairie Mountain Publishing Company, 18 years. Now Publisher Emeritus since retirement in July 2023. 

 

Education B.S. in Business Administration, Bloomsburg University, December 1980

 

Started newspaper career at Times-Leader Newspaper in early 1983.  Worked in the circulation department serving as customer service manager, home delivery manager, single copy manager, and assistant circulation director and in 1986, circulation director, a post held until 1995.  Daily circulation increased from 20,000 copies to over 51,000. 

 

In 1995, promoted to Vice President of Operations.  Oversaw the installation of a $15 million printing facility and the start-up of the first Man-Roland Geo-Man press in the nation.

 

In 1997, named one of the nation’s top young newspaper executives by Presstime Magazine.

 

In 1998, promoted to Vice President of Marketing.  During his tenure, the Times Leader set new revenue, circulation and profit records.

 

In December 1999, recruited by the Pulitzer Company, owners of the Provo Utah Daily Herald, as General Manager.  Over the next three years, Al and his team made several strategic purchases of weekly papers, HomeChoice Magazine and converted the home delivered Shopper to mail delivery.

 

Named CEO, President and Publisher in February of 2003.  The management team he assembled established the Daily Herald Publishing Company as a vibrant, fast growing company and a recognized community leader.  Named 2004 Business Person of the Year by Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce.

 

Named President and CEO of Prairie Mountain Publishing and Publisher of The Camera in July 2006.  Prairie Mountain Publishing was comprised 11 newspapers and websites in Colorado, including The Camera, The Colorado Daily, Broomfield Enterprise and the Eastern Colorado Publishing group.  Later in 2011, PMM purchased the Lehman Publishing group that included the Longmont Times-Call, the Loveland Reporter-Herald, Canon City Daily Record and the Hometown Weekly, along with a state of the art printing facility in Berthoud Colorado.

 

Later PMM purchased the Canon City Shopper, the South Platte Sentinel and finally the Greeley Tribune in 2020.

 

Al ended his 40 plus year media career with his retirement in July 2023.  He currently serves as a member of the finance committee for the Colorado Press Association, served until recently on the Broomfield Chamber Board of Directors, now serving on the Advocacy Committee, continues to serve on the Editorial Board for the Daily Camera and PMM.  Manzi serves as a student mentor for the University of Colorado.

 

Tons of non profit support through the years, United Way, Boulder Chamber, I have a dream of Boulder County etc.

 

Manzi lives in Broomfield with his wonderful and supportive wife, Ann Marie, his son Jeremey and two cats, Chloe and Monster.
